Dividing by a reduction factor

Moments get large. Many loading forms divide every moment by a reduction factor — often 1,000 in light aircraft, larger in transport aircraft — to get a moment index, and do the arithmetic with those.

Indexes add just like moments. To get a CG, multiply the total index back by the factor, then divide by the total weight.
